General Questions

3-D Sports is 501 (C) 3 Non Profit youth organization that provides players of all backgrounds the opportunity to grow and develop on and off the basketball court. The 3-d’s are an acronym for “Discipline, Dedication, and Determination.”

Our Academy teams are formed of players who need more court time and individual attention. The teams play year-round in various leagues, practices, and skills sessions on a consistent basis. Focus is
placed on fundamentals, basketball IQ and getting acclimated to graduate to the select level.

Our Select teams are formed during an open tryout process where kids are selected based on talents, skill sets, desires, and abilities. The Select season runs from October-July for the 1st-7th grade and February-July for the 8th-11th and unsigned seniors. The Select teams practice 2 times a week and play an average of 2 tournaments a month. These tournaments are highly competitive and involve some travel.

Our Elite teams are formed during a selection process where kids are invited to come out for workouts to be on the team. These workouts are not open to the public. The teams compete at the national level NCAA certified events and high-level exposure tournaments only. These teams practice 2 times a week and have skill workouts. The season runs from February-July and players receive some form of
sponsorhip.

We typically carry 9-10 players on a team.

We want parents to understand that playing basketball with 3-D sports is a commitment with the organization, the child and parent. 3-D Sports is designed to develop the player at whatever level they are at and to nurture and foster that development to allow the player to maximize their potential. This means valuable time must be given in order to achieve this.

If the player is able to give adequate time and adequate effort to allow this development to happen then we are fine and support that. What we don’t want is for the kid to get burnt out or miss out on fully developing in either sport. 3D-Sports team members are not allowed to play on any other basketball teams at the same time they play for our program.

For our Academy teams, leagues are played in the DFW metroplex in places such as PSA, Sports Plex and IAD

For our Select teams, tournaments are played 70 percent in The DFW and 30 percent in places such as AAU nationals, LA, OK, ARK, San Antonio, Houston or Las Vegas.

For our Elite teams, tournaments are played 50 percents in The DFW and 50 Percent in places such as LA, OK, ARK, San Antonio, Houston, Las Vegas, CA and East Coast.

The Academy teams participate in leagues the entire time of their season. There may be a week or so in between leagues but they will play once a week minimum. The Select and Elite teams will play 10-12 tournaments.

Our fees change between the different age groups that we have. However, our fees are divided evenly according to the number of players we have on each team.

The club dues will cover uniforms rentals, administrative duties, coaches, gym fees, Skills workouts and tournament fees and there are no hidden fees. The club dues will not cover player travel expenses to out of state or regional tournaments such as transportation, hotel and food.

Practices are held at various locations central to DFW.

On the Academy teams, playing time is guaranteed are distributed equally based on players participating in practices and skill workouts.

The Select and Elite teams playing time is not guaranteed and is determined in practice and performance in the game.
